Students at the Jamming for Genes concertIn 2008 Tharwa and Conder Preschools amalgamated with the Primary School making Charles Conder Primary School an educational facility that caters for students from Preschool to Year 6. This amalgamation made us the largest public primary school in the ACT.

Programs at CCPS

  1. Learning Assistance – Specially designed programs to address specific student needs for areas of literacy and numeracy learning.
  2. Playground Pals – Year 5 and 6 student help younger children with problems they may have on the playground.
  3. ESL – structured English programs for students from backgrounds where other languages are frequently used.
  4. Learning Support Centre and Integration Support – Intensive support for students with designated special education needs.
  5. Schools As Communities – program to build and maintain positive links with the school community.
  6. Year 5 band - Music program for Year Five students.
  7. Breakfast Club - Thursday mornings from 8am.
  8. Sport - The school offers a variety of sports that the students can participate in and represent the school including:
                   Rugby League,
                   Rugby Union,
                   Touch and
                   Oztag.                                  The school has 2 major carnivals during the year.  These are Cross Country and Athletics.
  9. Gross Motor - Daily PE occurs in classes with students having skills and games taught during this time.
